Google Analytics 4
Connect the Google account that owns your GA4 property, then pick the property — both steps, or the connection returns nothing.
In 10 seconds
- Connecting is two steps: sign in with Google, then choose which GA4 property belongs to this brand. Stopping after the first step leaves you with a connection that reads nothing.
- Sign in as the Google account that can already open your GA4 property. If you can't see the property in Google's own Analytics, EOMA won't see it either.
- EOMA only reads. The permission it asks for cannot change or delete anything in your Analytics.
Before you start
- You must be the owner of this brand in EOMA. Anyone else sees an "Owner only" label instead of the Connect button. See Integrations.
- You need to know which Google account can open your GA4 property. This is the one
that trips most people up: the property was often created by an agency, a developer,
or an old company address, not the account you use for email. Open
analytics.google.comin another tab first and check which account is signed in there — that is the account EOMA needs. - Your property — the thing in Google Analytics that collects one website's traffic — must already exist. EOMA connects to a property; it cannot create one.
- No plan requirement. Integrations are available on every plan.
Steps
1 — Open Settings → Integrations
┌─ Settings ───────────────────┬─────────────────────────────────┐
│ Workspace │ Analytics & Search │
│ Plan & Usage │ │
│ Brand Profile │ ▮ Google Analytics 4 [Connect]│
│ ● Integrations ← here │ ▮ Google Search Console │

Google Analytics 4 is the first card in the Analytics & Search group.
2 — Click Connect and sign in as the right Google account
The button changes to "Connecting…" and your browser leaves EOMA for Google's own sign-in page. Google will ask you to approve one thing:
See and download your Google Analytics data
That is a read-only permission. There is no second checkbox and nothing to configure. Google shows this approval screen every time, even if you have approved EOMA before — that is deliberate on our side, not a sign that something went wrong.
If Google is already signed in as the wrong account, use Use another account on that screen. Coming back and clicking Connect again will not offer you a choice; Google reuses whichever account the browser is already holding.
When you approve, Google sends you back to Settings → Integrations.
3 — Pick your property
A window opens by itself the moment you land back:
┌─ Select Google Analytics properties ───────────────┐
│ [ Search properties or accounts ] │
│ Select all 2 of 12 selected │
│ ── ACME MEDIA ─────────────────────────── │
│ ☑ acme.com — GA4 ID: 312445901 │
│ ☐ acme.com — old UA copy ID: 118820043 │
│ ── CLIENT ACCOUNTS ────────────────────── │
│ ☐ shop.acme.com ID: 402118773 │
│ [ Cancel ] [ Save 2 … ] │
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
Properties are grouped under the Google Analytics account they sit in, because one Google login often reaches several. Tick the property that matches this brand's website and press Save. Save stays greyed out until you tick at least one.
You can tick more than one — useful when a brand runs a main site and a shop as separate properties. Everything you tick is reported together.
If the window did not appear, or you closed it, the card now shows a Select properties button. Same window, same result.
What you'll see
The card, before you connect
The provider name and a Connect button. Nothing else.
The card, after Google but before you pick
A Select properties button and a small Disconnect. This is the state that looks finished and is not: the Google half is done, no property is attached, and the Web Analytics screen will still be empty. Finish step 3.
The card, once a property is attached
Google Analytics 4 Connected · 2 properties Edit Disconnect
Edit reopens the same window with your current choices already ticked.
"Owner only"
Shown instead of any button when your role on this brand is not owner. Ask whoever created the brand to connect it.
Where the data actually appears
SEO → Web Analytics in the left sidebar. That screen is the only place GA4 data is shown. See Web analytics.
EOMA reads your Analytics live, each time that screen is opened. Nothing is copied into EOMA overnight and there is no import to wait for — which also means the numbers you see there are Google's own, unchanged.
Reading the numbers
"Connected · 2 properties". Two GA4 properties are attached to this brand and both are being read. If this says one property and you run two websites, half your traffic is missing from EOMA — press Edit and tick the other.
"2 of 12 selected" in the picker. Twelve properties are reachable by the Google account you signed in with; two are ticked. A large number here usually means you signed in with an agency or company account that also reaches clients' properties — check the account heading above each row before ticking, not just the property name.
"ID: 312445901". Google's own number for that property, shown because two properties often carry near-identical names ("acme.com" and "acme.com — old"). If you are unsure which is live, this number is next to the property name in Google Analytics too. Match them.
"Data delayed ~15min" / "Data delayed ~24h" on Web Analytics. Google itself does not publish the numbers instantly. Today's figures move for about a day after the fact, so a quiet-looking morning is often just Google catching up rather than a real drop.
When it goes wrong
| You see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "No GA4 properties were found for this Google account." | You signed in with an account that cannot open any property. This is the single most common failure. | Disconnect, click Connect again, and use Use another account on Google's screen to pick the account that owns the property. |
| The right property is missing from the list, but others are there | The account you used has access to some properties and not that one. | In Google Analytics, ask whoever administers the property to give your account access — Viewer is enough. Then Edit here. |
| "Google Analytics connect failed: invalid state" | You left the Google screen open for more than 10 minutes before approving. | Click Connect and go through it again without pausing. |
| "Google Analytics connect failed: access denied" | You pressed Cancel on Google's approval screen. | Click Connect and approve. |
| The card says Select properties and Web Analytics is empty | Step 3 was never finished. The connection is half-made. | Press Select properties and pick one. |
| Web Analytics says "Pick a Property" | The same half-made state, seen from the other screen. | Follow its button back to Integrations. |
| Web Analytics says "Reconnect Required" | Your Google authorisation expired or somebody revoked EOMA's access from their Google account. | Disconnect, then Connect again. |
| An email from EOMA saying an integration disconnected | The link broke and stayed broken. We send this once per disconnection, to the brand owner. | Reconnect. The alert clears itself once the connection works again. |
| Web Analytics says "No Access to This Brand" | Your EOMA account is not on this brand's team. Reconnecting will not fix it. | Ask the brand owner to add you. |
