## In 10 seconds

- EOMA watches what AI assistants say when people ask about your category, and records whether you were mentioned.
- When you are missing, it tells you which specific question you lost and why.
- It then produces the work that fixes it — and for many tasks, does that work for you.

## The short version

For twenty years, being findable meant ranking on Google. A buyer typed a question, got ten
blue links, and clicked one. Every marketing tool ever built was pointed at that moment.

That moment is being replaced. A buyer now asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, or
Google's own AI summary — and gets *one answer* instead of ten links. That answer names two
or three brands. If you are not among them, you were not beaten to position four. You were
not in the conversation at all, and the buyer never learned you exist.

EOMA is built for that moment. It asks the AI engines the questions your buyers actually ask,
reads the answers, and records what happened: were you mentioned, which competitors were,
which websites the engine trusted enough to quote. Then it turns that into work — the
content, the pages, the corrections that make the next answer include you.

The distinction worth holding on to: traditional SEO tools tell you where you *rank*. EOMA
tells you whether you are *in the answer*. Those are no longer the same question, and a brand
can do well at one while being invisible at the other.

## How it works

1. **We build your question set.** From your website, your category, and your market, EOMA
assembles the questions a real buyer would ask an assistant about what you sell. Not
keywords — whole questions, in the language your buyers use.

2. **We ask the engines, on a schedule.** Every question goes to each AI engine repeatedly,
week after week. One answer is an anecdote; the same question asked over months is a
measurement, because these engines do not answer identically twice.

3. **We read every answer.** For each one: were you named, which competitors were named,
which sources did the engine cite, and did it cite *you* or merely repeat something you
published elsewhere. That last distinction matters more than it sounds — see
   [How your visibility is scored](/docs/concepts/how-visibility-is-scored).

4. **We turn the gaps into work.** A question you keep losing becomes a specific,
scoped task: this page needs writing, this claim needs a source, this profile needs
correcting. Most weeks EOMA can carry out the task itself and hand you the result to
   approve.

5. **We measure again next week.** Because the answer changes, and the only proof a fix
worked is the engine's behaviour afterwards.

## What this means for you

**Your numbers start small and get more meaningful every week.** EOMA accumulates. In week
one you have a snapshot; by week eight you have a trend, and the trend is what actually tells
you whether you are winning. A low score in your first fortnight is a starting line, not a
diagnosis.

**You will see competitors you did not consider competitors.** The engines cite whoever
answered the question well — a directory, a forum thread, a newspaper, a rival three times
your size. For the purpose of one question, that is who you are competing with, and pretending
otherwise costs you the answer.

**Being invisible is usually fixable, and usually not with more advertising.** The engines
quote sources they can read, verify, and trust. That is a content and evidence problem far
more often than a budget problem, which is why EOMA's output is work rather than a bid
strategy.

**You do not need a technical team.** Connecting your accounts is a series of "sign in with
Google" style approvals, and the work EOMA produces arrives as drafts you approve, not as
code you deploy.

## Common misunderstandings

| People assume | Actually |
|---|---|
| "This is SEO with a new name." | SEO optimises your position in a list of links. EOMA optimises whether you appear in a generated answer that may show no links at all. Both matter; they are measured differently and fixed differently. |
| "If I rank first on Google, AI will mention me." | Frequently untrue. The engines draw on sources they were trained on and sources they can retrieve now. Brands that rank well and are still absent from AI answers are the ordinary case, not the exception. |
| "One bad score means the tool is wrong." | Ask the same question twice and these engines answer differently. That is why EOMA asks repeatedly over time. Judge the trend, not a single run. |
| "The score should improve as soon as I publish something." | The engines re-read the web on their own schedule. Weeks, not hours, is the normal delay between publishing a fix and seeing the answer change. |
| "EOMA writes the content and that is the whole product." | The writing is the visible part. The measurement is what tells you which writing was worth doing, and whether it worked. |
