## In 10 seconds

- This is a real search for your brand name, run from your own market, kept exactly as Google returned it.
- One badge under the answer tells you the thing that matters most: whether Google used your own website to describe you, or wrote about you from other people's pages.
- It refreshes about once a week. The date beside the market tells you when Google actually answered — never when the page was loaded.

## Before you start

- Your brand needs a **Growth plan or higher**. On Starter and on the free plan
  this page shows a lock. See [Plan and usage](/docs/settings/plan-and-usage).
- Your website address must be saved in your brand profile. That address is what
  EOMA compares against Google's sources — without it, the "did Google use your
  site" badge has nothing to match. See [Brand profile](/docs/settings/brand-profile).
- Your first capture must have run. It completes within 24 hours of setup, then
  repeats weekly.

## Steps

### 1 — Open it from the left sidebar

```
┌─ sidebar ─────────────────────┐
│ ▾ AI Visibility               │
│     AI Provider Visibility    │
│   ● Your Brand on Google  ←   │
│ ▸ SEO                         │
└───────────────────────────────┘
```

### 2 — Check which market you are reading

The pill at the top of the page names the country and language the search was
run from. If you sell in more than one country, that pill becomes a dropdown —
pick the market you want.

```
┌──────────────────────────────┬───────────────────────────────┐
│ 📍 Turkiye · tr        ← pick│ Google answered 12 Aug · 2d ago│
└──────────────────────────────┴───────────────────────────────┘
```

Google answers the same brand name differently in different countries. One EOMA
brand asked from Turkiye got a flights module and one result of its own; the same
name asked from Germany got a full AI answer and two. The wrong market gives you a
true answer to a question none of your customers asked.

### 3 — Read the badge under the answer

Skip to the coloured line below Google's answer before you read anything else.
Green means Google quoted your website. Amber means it described your business
without opening your site once. That single line decides what you do next.

## What you'll see

### The market pill and "Google answered *date*"

Side by side at the top. The date is the moment Google produced this answer, and
the "2d ago" beside it counts from that moment.

### "*N* daily snapshots kept for this market"

A small line under the pill, shown once you have more than one capture. EOMA keeps
every past answer, so you can see how Google's description of you changed.

### "What Google's AI says about you"

The largest block on the page. Your brand name appears as a chip on the right —
that is the search that was run. Below it is Google's answer, word for word, with
the small numbered circles Google uses to cite its sources. Each circle opens the
page it came from.

### The badge, and "Other sites inside your own answer:"

Directly under the answer: either *"Google used your own site to write this
answer"* or *"Google wrote this about you without using your site once"*. Under
that, the other websites Google read while writing about you.

### "Where it got this"

The right-hand column. Every source Google used, as a card with the site name,
the page title and a line of the text taken from it. Your own site is marked with
a star and a green tint. Four are shown; "Show all *N*" opens the rest.

### "Your results page"

A screenshot of the real page. Click it to expand.

### "Your brand card on Google"

The box with your logo, description and links that Google shows beside search
results for established brands. If you do not have one, this panel turns amber
and says so.

### "What people ask about you"

Google's own suggested questions on your name. If any of them are about whether
you are trustworthy, the panel turns amber and counts them.

### "Who owns your name"

Every result on a search for your brand name, in order. Yours are green, complaint
and review sites are amber, everything else is plain.

### "Everything else Google showed"

Chips naming the other blocks that appeared — maps, news, videos, images, forum
discussions — with a count for each.

## Reading the numbers

**"Google answered 12 Aug · 2d ago".** Two days ago is normal. This page refreshes
weekly, so anything up to about seven days is the schedule working. Past that,
see the last row of the table below.

**"Google wrote this about you without using your site once".** Google described
your business from other people's pages, so everything a customer reads about you
was written by someone else. The fix is on your own website: clear answers to the
questions in the panel below, on pages Google is allowed to read.

**"3 of the top 20 results on your own name are yours".** Seventeen of the first
twenty things a person sees when they search your name belong to somebody else —
directories, marketplaces, review sites, competitors. Every extra page you own on
your own name is one fewer chance for a customer to leave through their link.

**"2 of these 8 are trust questions".** Two of the questions Google suggests about
you are people checking whether you are legitimate. A page that answers that
plainly, in your own words, is usually worth more than anything else you could
write that month.

**A source card count, for example "Show all 9".** Google read nine pages to
describe you. If none of them are yours, those nine sites are shaping your
reputation — and getting mentioned on any one of them moves you.

## When it goes wrong

| You see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| A lock and "Upgrade to Growth" | Your brand is on Starter. This page belongs to Growth. | Open Settings → Plan and usage. The first capture runs within 24 hours of upgrading. |
| "Your first capture is on its way" | No capture has completed yet. This is timing, not a restriction. | Come back within 24 hours. Nothing to fix. |
| "Google's AI did not return an answer for this brand name in this market." | Google did not produce an AI answer for that search that day — common for smaller brands and smaller markets. | Read "Who owns your name" and the screenshot instead; both are still captured. |
| "No screenshot for this capture." | The screenshot step failed for that run. The answer and the sources are unaffected. | Wait for the next weekly capture. |
| "Google answered" shows a date over a week old | The weekly capture did not run for your brand. | Contact support with your brand name and the date shown. |
| Your brand card panel is amber | Google holds no brand card for your name. | This is one of the highest-value things on the page to fix. Wikidata, consistent business details, and linked social profiles are what build it. See [Web presence](/docs/pages/web-presence). |
