## In 10 seconds

- You connect **your own** OpenAI ad account. The ads, the budget and the bill stay in that account; EOMA creates and manages campaigns in it for you.
- Every campaign is created **paused**. Nothing is spent until you press **Launch** and confirm the daily amount on the screen that follows.
- The page shows the questions your buyers ask ChatGPT, your spend by day, and one card per campaign with one button: pause, resume or launch.

## Before you start

- A Starter, Growth, Scale or Enterprise plan. On the free plan the page shows an upgrade door instead. See [Plan and usage](/docs/settings/plan-and-usage).
- Only the brand's owner can connect an account or change a campaign. Team members can read the page.
- An OpenAI ad account. If you do not have one yet, the page walks you through opening it (step 1 below).
- A company card for OpenAI. OpenAI does not accept Turkish lira, so the account runs in another currency, such as US dollars.

## Steps

### 1 — Open ChatGPT Ads and follow "The way to your first campaign"

ChatGPT Ads sits in the sidebar under **Visibility**.

```
┌─ sidebar ─────────────┐
│ Visibility            │
│   …                   │
│ ● ChatGPT Ads   ← here│
└───────────────────────┘
```

If no account is connected yet, the page shows five steps in order. The first four happen at OpenAI: **Open an ad account**, **Verify your identity**, **Brand review**, **Add a payment method**. Pick the currency and time zone carefully: OpenAI does not let you change them later.

### 2 — Connect the key

In OpenAI's Ads Manager, create an API key in the account settings. Paste it into **OpenAI Ads API key** and press **Connect the key**. This key can spend money in your ad account, which is why EOMA never starts spending unless you launch a campaign yourself.

### 3 — Create a campaign

Press **Create your first campaign** (or **New campaign** later). It opens in three steps — **Where it shows**, **What it says**, **How much it spends** — with a preview of the ad as ChatGPT shows it. The last button is **Create, paused**.

### 4 — Launch it when you are ready

On the campaign, press **Launch**. A confirmation screen shows the daily amount and what it means over a week. Only **Launch the campaign** on that screen starts the money.

## What you'll see

### The account checks — "Ad account", "Brand review", "Account review"

Before your account can run ads, OpenAI reviews it. While a check is still open, this is the first thing on the page, with its state: In review, Approved or Rejected. Identity verification and the payment method appear here only if OpenAI reports a problem with them.

### "Your account is ready to run"

When the checks have passed and you have no campaign yet, this invitation leads to your first campaign.

### The period's numbers — "Last 7 days", "Last 28 days", "Today"

The period menu sits on this section. All amounts are in your ad account's currency.

- On a computer: **Impressions**, **Clicks**, **Spend**, **Click-through rate** and **Cost per click**, plus **Conversions** and **Cost per conversion** once measurement works.
- On a phone: one card with the spend as the main figure and one bar per day beside it, then **Clicks**, **Cost per click** and, once measurement works, **Conversions**.

### "Campaigns"

Each campaign shows its name, its state (**Live**, **Paused** or **Archived**), its budget and what it spent this period.

- On a computer it is a table. A paused campaign's row offers **Launch**.
- On a phone each campaign is a card with one button. **Live**: **Pause** stops the spending in one tap. **Paused** and launched before: **Resume** asks once, with the daily amount, before the spending starts again. **Paused** and never launched: **Launch** opens the confirmation from step 4.

Press a campaign's name to open its details: the budget (you can change it), the conversations the ad is shown in, the ad's text, title, page and picture. **Archive** is in the "…" menu. It is OpenAI's delete and cannot be undone, so it asks first.

### "What your buyers ask ChatGPT"

The purchase-intent questions EOMA follows for your organic visibility. An ad adds a second place in those same conversations, right under the answer.

### "Your account"

Your ad account's name, currency and time zone, the measurement status, and **Disconnect**. On a computer this sits at the top of the page; on a phone it is the **Your account** row at the bottom, which opens a sheet.

## Reading the numbers

| Number | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| **Spend**, e.g. *$42.10 spent* | What the period cost in your OpenAI ad account, billed by OpenAI. "Last 7 days" and "Last 28 days" are complete days ending yesterday, so they do not move during the day. |
| **The daily bars** | Where the money went, day by day. A flat line of short stubs means nothing ran. |
| **Today** | The day so far. *Today's numbers are still changing* — do not compare it with a full day. |
| **Clicks** | People who went from the ad to your page. |
| **Cost per click** | Spend divided by clicks. A dash means no clicks yet, not a cost of zero. |
| **Conversions** | Purchases or sign-ups the OpenAI pixel counted. Shown only once measurement works — before that, an empty number would wrongly read as "it did not work". |
| **The week sentence on Launch** | For a $25 daily budget: *seven days come to about $175; a single day can reach $50.* OpenAI averages your daily budget over the week, so one day can run up to twice the amount. |

## When it goes wrong

| You see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| *OpenAI no longer accepts this key.* | The key was revoked or deleted at OpenAI. | Create a new key in Ads Manager and connect it again. Your campaigns stay where they are. |
| *OpenAI asks for a daily budget of at least …* | OpenAI sets a minimum daily budget per currency (25 a day for a US-dollar account). | Raise the daily budget to that amount. |
| *…an ad may link only to the site in your OpenAI account.* | Until your identity verification is approved, OpenAI accepts only pages on the site registered in your ad account. | Use a page on that site, or finish the verification in Ads Manager. |
| *An earlier attempt left a campaign with no ad* | OpenAI refused the ad, and you then changed the name, budget or country, so a new campaign was created. The first one is paused and spends nothing. | Press **Archive for good** to remove it, or **Keep it**. |
| *2 of your campaigns are still running at OpenAI* | Your plan no longer includes ChatGPT Ads, but the campaigns you launched keep spending in your own OpenAI account. Disconnecting the key does not stop them. | Press **Pause the campaigns** on the ChatGPT Ads page (the brand's owner only). You can start them again at OpenAI. |
| The photo is refused as too small | OpenAI needs at least 640 × 640 pixels. Large phone photos are made smaller for you before they are sent. | Choose a larger photo. |
