What is AEO, and how does EOMA work?
AEO is the work of becoming the brand an AI assistant recommends in its answer. EOMA measures your brand on four assistants every week, turns the gaps into actions, and publishes them to your site once you approve.
EOMA is an AEO (answer engine optimization) platform that checks every week whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity name a brand in their answers, and turns what is missing into actions that are published to the brand's site once the owner approves them. EOMA was founded in 2026 in İstanbul and is built for small and medium businesses that have no SEO agency or in-house specialist.
What is AEO (answer engine optimization)?
AEO is the work of becoming the brand an AI assistant recommends when a customer asks it a question. GEO (generative engine optimization) is another name for the same job.
A classic search engine answers a question with ten links. An assistant such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity writes one answer and names brands inside it. A brand missing from that answer has not slipped to fourth place; the customer never hears that the brand exists.
How is AEO different from SEO?
SEO aims for a high position on Google's results page. AEO aims for the brand's name inside the answer an AI writes. A brand that ranks well on Google can be absent from AI answers altogether, which is why EOMA keeps the two measurements apart and writes separate actions for each.
Why does AEO matter?
For a study published in September 2026, EOMA put buying-intent questions to the four most used AI engines on behalf of more than 1,000 brands and read over 40,000 answers one at a time. Three brands out of four did not appear in a single answer. In those same answers, the assistants named an average of seven competitors.
A technically sound website is not enough on its own: in the same study, 73% of the brands whose sites worked flawlessly still appeared in no answer. The full findings are in 1,000+ brands, 40,000+ answers.
Why does an AI assistant not recommend a brand?
Three gaps repeated across every industry in EOMA's study. The first sat outside the site: for 84% of brands, not one independent source mentioned the brand, whether a directory listing, a guide, a press piece or a review. The second was the page itself: for 77% of brands the page title was generic or missing, so the page never told a machine who the brand was. The third was content: 70% of brands had nothing an assistant could quote, such as a blog, an FAQ, a buyer's guide or a comparison.
How many AI engines does EOMA track?
EOMA tracks four AI assistants: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. On the Growth and Scale plans, Google AI Overviews is tracked alongside those four. The Starter plan measures ChatGPT and Gemini, and the free plan measures ChatGPT; current plan details are on the pricing page.
On the plans that track all four assistants, every question is asked seven ways: ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini each answer once with web search and once without, and Perplexity answers with web search. The two modes give separate findings. A brand the assistant can find on the web but does not know is a different problem from a brand it cannot find at all.
How does EOMA's weekly action cycle work?
- EOMA reads your site, your category and your market, and writes the questions your customers would ask an assistant. You read the question set once and correct it.
- On the paid plans, measurement runs every week and asks a quarter of the question set each time. By the end of the month the whole set has been asked once.
- For every answer, EOMA records whether your name came up, which competitors were named and which sites the assistant cited. The AI Visibility score is built from eight separate measurements.
- On Growth and Scale, a question you keep losing becomes a concrete action on your board: a page to write, a schema block to add or a page title to fix. EOMA writes those actions from your measurements every week. On Starter and the free plan, the board holds the plan's fixed set of routines.
- When you press Start on an action, an EOMA agent takes the work. The agent reads your site and your data, writes the draft and brings it back for your approval.
- When you approve the draft, EOMA publishes it to your connected site or opens a pull request in your code repository. With no site connected, the draft comes to you as Markdown, HTML or PDF. Nothing you have not approved touches your site.
- Measurement runs again the following week. The only proof that a fix worked is what the assistants answer next.
Is EOMA an AI SEO tool?
EOMA tracks Google alongside AI answers. Your Google rankings are checked every month on Starter and every week on Growth and Scale. Search Console and Google Analytics connect read-only, and EOMA uses that data as evidence when it decides which action to recommend. AI visibility and classic SEO sit on the same action board.
What does EOMA do after it measures?
EOMA does not stop at a report when it finds a gap. EOMA writes the change that closes the gap and puts it live after you approve. EOMA publishes through GitHub, WordPress, HubSpot, Vercel, Wix and Cloudflare; on a platform outside that list the work still gets done, and EOMA walks you through putting it live step by step.
Villa Sepeti rents out more than 3,000 villas across 28 regions of Turkey. The new page titles EOMA prepared went live on 18 August 2026. Within a month, Villa Sepeti's AI visibility score rose from 18 to 46 out of 100, and the answers recommending Villa Sepeti to "which site should I look at?" questions went from 10 in 100 to 34 in 100. The full story is in the Villa Sepeti case study.
How can I try EOMA?
EOMA's free plan measures your brand on ChatGPT and asks for no card. You can move to a paid plan whenever you like. The plans are compared on the pricing page.
